It is our mission at Step South Dance to provide high quality dance instruction to children of all ages in a fair and friendly environment.  At Step South Dance we encourage children to express themselves through age appropriate movement and technique among various styles of dance.  We at Step South Dance are dedicated in providing each student with a comprehensive dance education that will help them grow both mentally and physically as performing artists!


Our most important mission is to share our love of dance with children and allow them to enjoy all dance has to offer!

​Lindsey Farris:

Owner/Instructor/Artistic Director & SSDC Choreographer
Lindsey has nearly 32 years of dance experience.  Her love of dance led her to open Step South Dance in 2008.  She has taught and choreographed for over 15 years. She is a certified dance educator in the state of SC and received her BA in Dance Education from Winthrop University in 2005. Lindsey has been immersed in all styles and genres of dance throughout her lifetime. She worked in the Rock Hill public school system as a dance educator and coach to dance and competitive cheer teams for four years before opening Step South Dance. Lindsey has received numerous choreography awards from multiple dance competitions across the south east as well as Sportsmanship and Best All Around Studio awards.  Lindsey has judged many dance competitions and professional auditions. She strives to stay up to date and familiar with new dance techniques and choreographic trends and believes children learn so many important life skills from the art of dance. Lindsey puts forth her best effort in running a fun, friendly, and professional atmosphere at Step South while maintaining a strict technical dance discipline & instilling dance and life skills in her students. She feels very blessed to share her love of dance and teaching with Step South! Lindsey and her husband Cameron live in Rock Hill with their daughter Hadley and son Deacon.

Danielle Colon: Recreational Instructor/SSDC Choreographer

Danielle has been dancing for over 24 years.  She began competitive dancing at the age of ten and has competed on regional and national levels receiving numerous awards. She has received training in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and later began training in ballroom dancing.  Danielle has also taken master classes from well-known choreographers and instructors, including Debbie Allen and Dena Rizzo.  She has been teaching for the past ten years and instructing children of all ages on both recreational and competitive levels at studios in Rock Hill and the surrounding areas.  She was also the director and instructor of the dance program for one of the Upper Palmetto YMCA branches.  This is Danielle's third year with Step South Dance and she is excited to share her passion as well as the art of dance with all of her students.

Morgan Abercrombie: Recreational Instructor/SSDC Choreographer

Morgan has been dancing for 17 years. She began dancing at the age of three and danced with Step South’s Competition Team for 5 years. During her years of competing Morgan won numerous judges awards, scholarships and overalls. She has been teaching with Step South for 3 years as a recreational and company instructor. She loves being able to share her love of dance with each student and is so excited for another amazing year at Step South!



Avery Ingle: SSDC Tap Instructor

Avery has danced for 15 years and competed for 8 years at various studios in North Carolina. She has been trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary and hip hop. Avery attends Winthrop University where she is pursuing a degree in special education. This is her third year at Step South as an instructor. She loves sharing her love of Tap with her dancers!






Kristy Brock: SSDC Acro Instructor

Kristy has been involved with dance and gymnastics since she was 7 years old.  She has over 24 years of teaching experience with both recreational classes and competitive teams.  She is an active USA Gymnastics professional, safety certified member and holds many certifications in artistic as well as acro-gymnastics. Her acro repertoire has now expanded as she has evolved her teaching experience into acro dance through the Acrobatic Arts curriculum. Kristy loves helping children and finds joy in seeing their excitement as they progress and each new goal is met.  In addition to teaching acro, Kristy also owns a full-time photography business. Kristy resides in Rock Hill with her husband Jamie and daughter Chloey.  She is looking forward to her second year of teaching acro at Step South Dance.
