Observation: It is Step South’s belief that dancers work more efficiently when they are not being observed. Therefore parents/family/friends are not allowed in the dance studio during the time of class. There will be a waiting area/lobby out front in which parents may wait if they choose. It is very important for the teacher to have the student’s full attention during class so that he/she may learn and grow to their fullest potential as dancers. Therefore SSD will offer parents/families/friends the opportunity to attend family week in the spring of each dance year. This will be a time that friends and families can observe their children in dance class.
Recital: Step South Dance will hold its annual recital in May each year. This will be a time where the students can shine and showcase their talents and all they have learned throughout the dance school year. A recital fee of $25 per family will be due in the spring.
Dress Rehearsal: There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for the recital. Information will be given out closer to time.
Picture Week: Each spring SSD will hold picture week. This is when group and individual pictures will be taken by a professional in the studio. Picture information and pricing will be given out early spring.
