Step South Dance Policies and Requirements

* Students are allowed three excused absences and two un-excused absences.
Holidays: Step South Dance will follow the Rock Hill School District Calendar for student and teacher approved holidays. This does NOT include Teacher Work Days and some Monday Holidays. If you are unsure, please check with the studio or on our website calendar. Tuition is not wavered for months with Holidays.

Monthly Newsletter: Step South Dance will send home a monthly newsletter with each dancer at the beginning of each month. This newsletter will have important information about upcoming dates, fees, and happenings at Step South Dance.
Costumes: All dance costumes will be ordered in November/December. Costumes will require a $50.00 deposit due in November. The remaining balance will be due in January/February. Dancers will not receive their costumes without the balance being paid in full.
There are NO refunds for costumes.
Observation: It is Step South’s belief that dancers work more efficiently when they are not being observed. Therefore parents/family/friends are not allowed in the dance studio during the time of class. There will be a waiting area/lobby out front in which parents may wait if they choose. It is very important for the teacher to have the student’s full attention during class so that he/she may learn and grow to their fullest potential as dancers. Therefore SSD will offer parents/families/friends the opportunity to attend family week in the spring of each dance year. This will be a time that friends and families can observe their children in dance class.
Recital: Step South Dance will hold its annual recital in May each year. This will be a time where the students can shine and showcase their talents and all they have learned throughout the dance school year. A recital fee of $25 per family will be due in the spring.
Dress Rehearsal: There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal for the recital. Information will be given out closer to time.
Picture Week: Each spring SSD will hold picture week. This is when group and individual pictures will be taken by a professional in the studio. Picture information and pricing will be given out early spring.
